Are you in a process yet you feel like you're moving in a circular motion?

You may be in a phase of growth that feels anything but that. 

We often seek within when there isn't an "answer" that comes rumbling from the heavens. Inner growth, healing and change don't happen in a direct, linear fashion. You may wonder if you have adequately healed wounds or have made progress when feelings of grief, sadness, worry or loss visit.

In healing past pains, the spiral-like process is an essential part of the healing.

As Laura Hough writes in her book;

“The healing process is best described as a spiral. Survivors go through the stages once, sometimes many times; sometimes in one order, sometimes in another. Each time they hit a stage again, they move up the spiral: they can integrate new information and a broader range of feelings, utilize more resources, take better care of themselves, and make deeper changes.”

As you climb upwards, you will notice your muscles reaching further and your horizon slowly expands itself. The overall focus is about upward movement and not necessarily about avoiding experiencing strong feelings as they are an integral part of life. 

Emotions join us at every stage of the stairwell of growth

As you heal you will notice shifts, change and meaningful growth. And noticing those areas of transformation are important to keeping you moving forward. Set times in your schedule to pay attention to what you have done, achieved or worked through. 

Be wise in how frequently you track your growth. Mindfully notice if you're taking your "movement temperature" from a place of slowness, uncertainty or anxiety or from a place of ease and trusting the your healing journey. 

Keeping steady with one foot in front of the other will allow you to climb that staircase with more ease and steadiness, keeping you in forward movement. 

If you're knee deep in a quest of questioning, seeking, discovering or healing, take a breath and embrace the natural ebb-and-flow.

Life moves in circles.

The sun rises an sets.

Old lays of skin fall off and new skin creates a new layer.

Your personality matures and develops.

You let go of the old and create space for the new. 

Wounds are slowly healed and curiosity shines through. 

Doors close and others open. 

Engaging in the process brings wisdom, teaches authenticity and realness. 

Digging your feet into the journey allows you to embody your strength, power, humility and creativity- And these are the qualities that allow for a meaningful life!

These are the metals we get as we brave the storms and walk through the unknowns of life's experiences.

These are what allow the next process and the next experience to taste just a bit sweeter. Stand with ease, confidence and wisdom you've earned and be curious about what the next chapter has to teach. 

 Allow your eyes to soften their gaze, and gently focus on the present.

 Release the  "destination" and allow the current moment to surround you. 

Allow the steps along the way to carry significance.

Look at the step you're standing on, check in on where you've come from, and the very next step ahead, where you are heading towards. You are exactly where you need to be, and you will get to wherever you need to.

Appreciate this very moment as the trek is so much more enjoyable if you've enjoyed the pathway.
