Emdr consult for the committed trauma therapists

Healing relational trauma using emdr

You know EMDR works.

But whether you are new at it or you’ve found yourself stuck with breaking past symptoms with clients, you want to master EMDR for your clients benefit and to grow as a clinician. You’ve done your own healing work and know the power of therapy. At the end of the day you want to lay your head down on your pillow knowing you have done your best work and made an impact in the lives of your clients.

It’s not about a quick fix, you want to invest the time and energy it takes to truly grow clinically and personally as an EMDR Therapist.

Becoming a good emdr clinician takes a lot more than just taking level 1 and level 2 training.

You sit with clients who have complex trauma, attachment issues, neglect, deeply rooted negative beliefs and unhealthy behaviors, grief, chronic pain and more complex issues that do not simply get resolved in a few sessions.

What you really need is a solid trauma framework, and knowing how and when to use emdr.

As an EMDR trainer, I get it andI've been there. As a newly trained emdr clinician, I had some great hopes for how to help clients heal from their flashbacks, their nightmares, to shake their negative beliefs and  to reduce the chronic anxiety and sadness.

I soon realized that though EMDR promotes that clients can feel short term relief, the basic training often doesn't speak of the deeper more complex pains that some of our clients hold.

Through one on one consultation, I was able to improve outcomes with clients through properly set up therapy and EMDR Targets.

I help newly trained EMDR professionals who want to go beyond the basics and into application build their confidence and skills as an EMDR therapist who specializes in trauma.

Through our work together you will walk into your next emdr session knowing that you have a clear focus on what you will be targeting, be able to speak confidently about the EMDR process and to set realistic treatment goals for better outcomes with clients and you will know how to work through EMDR blocks so you can process looping moments with  more ease and skill.

If you are ready to hone your skills and grow clinically and personally as an EMDR trauma therapist, book a consultation with me to discover how consultation can revolutionize your confidence and treatment outcomes.

You know that EMDR can change people's lives.

You took the training and have learned the protocol. You know that there are many different ways to help clients heal, and EMDR has been working.

But, you've recently hit a few sessions where you kept looping.  Where the processing simply wouldn't budge and you're not sure what is wrong. Single incident trauma responds quickly to anywhere from 2-6 EMDR sessions. However, most of your clients have experienced hopelessness, loss, abandonment, violation or abuse, and a short "quick fix" EMDR is not the answer. Research proves that complex PTSD requires a more comprehensive plan that requires lengthier stabilization and skills before processing.

EMDR is an intervention that requires finesse and fine-tuned skill when treating complex PTSD.

You want to learn how to:

  • administer assessments

  • utilize research based skills to be certain you are pacing the work properly.

  • check for attachment injuries, dissociation and unidentified defenses that stall effective processing.

In EMDR consultation with me you will learn how to:

  • practice EMDR resourcing and stabilization and other necessary supports prior to starting processing.

  • administer scientific-based assessments including attachment interview, DES and MID.

  • Identify which responses in assessments require follow up with appropriate clinical interview.

  • develop a fine eye in picking up on dissociation.

  • become comfortable working with parts and ego states .

  • become skillful and confident in asking directed questions to help identify targets and sequence the trauma work.

  • Develop and nurture the intuition and mind sight that allow for good EMDR trauma treatment.

Reach out with any questions and to schedule a time to consult towards your EMDRIA certification. Please note, since I am an EMDRIA approved therapist, you can use our consultation hours towards your EMDRIA Certification.
